Date: September 25-27, 2026.
Location: Erzsébet park
In the fall of 2026, the Mária Valéria bridge connecting the two banks of the Danube will once again be lit up: Esztergom and Párkány will celebrate the 131-year-old iconic crossing with a three-day series of events, during which special programs await visitors between September 25 and 27.
Built in 1895, Mária Valéria was blown up in both the First and Second World Wars. It was first blown up in 1927, and rebuilt more than half a century later in 2001. Since then, the people of Esztergom and Párkány celebrate the day of the bridge’s inauguration every year. The Bridge Festival plays an important role in strengthening friendly relations and fostering a common sense of identity among neighboring nations.
The venue for concerts and family programs is in Erzsébet park, which can be visited for free!
