Palatinus Lake

In Esztergom suburban there is a 32-hectare lake with crystal clear water, from which in the 1950s the aggregate sand used in the mining industry was extracted. Today, the population refers to the popular beach as “Pala”. Around the lake there are catering units, a holiday area and there are opportunities for various water sports. The surroundings of the lake and the reception building were modernized in 2021, with a renewed environment waiting for lakeside beach lovers. The new Ecotourism reception building fully ensures the comfort of visitors. In the indoor-open spaces there are men’s and women’s changing rooms, showers, restrooms, a barrier-free toilet suitable for changing diapers, and a sanitary room. Completely new, modern playground and outdoor fitness equipment await children and those who want to exercise in the lake spa area. In the southwestern part of the beach, a nature trail presents the diverse wildlife of Lake Palatine. The giant slide and the family slide, which were handed over in 2018, can be used without restriction by redeeming a daily ticket. There is a Diving Center around the lake, but you can also try sailing, surfing, or Sup-boarding. The parking facilities have also been renewed, bicycle storage facilities and barrier-free car parking have been created in front of the reception building.
